1. Description of Service

PopTask is a menu bar task manager for macOS, built and operated by Abdul Rehman Haider ("I", "me"). PopTask helps you create, organize, and track tasks using natural language input, voice input, AI-powered suggestions, and calendar sync. By downloading, installing, or using PopTask, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Free and Pro Plans

Free Plan

PopTask is free to download and use with up to 4 active (non-completed) tasks. All features are available on the free plan, including natural language input, voice input, AI task breakdown, calendar sync, Siri and Shortcuts, recurring tasks, snooze, and 9-language support. There are no time limits or expiring trials.

PopTask Pro

PopTask Pro removes the 4-task limit and allows unlimited active tasks. Pro is available as a monthly subscription ($1.99/month) or a one-time lifetime purchase ($14.99, limited to the first 100 users at this price). All Pro features are identical regardless of which plan you choose.

Grace Period

Users who upgrade from PopTask v1 to v2 receive a 30-day grace period with full Pro access, allowing time to evaluate the new version before deciding whether to subscribe.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

All purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. PopTask does not process payments directly and does not have access to your payment information.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. The renewal price is the same as the original subscription price.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time by going to System Settings > your name > Subscriptions on your Mac, or through the App Store app on any Apple device signed in with the same Apple ID.

Lifetime purchases are one-time payments that grant permanent access to all Pro features, including all future updates. No renewal or additional payment is required.

Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. I do not have the ability to issue refunds directly.

4. AI Features

PopTask includes AI-powered features that process task text to provide smart suggestions, clean up titles, generate subtasks, detect dates and times, identify recurrence patterns, and suggest follow-up tasks.

On macOS 26 or later with Apple Silicon, these features run entirely on your device using Apple's Foundation Models. On earlier macOS versions, task text is processed by the PopTask cloud service. See the Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

AI-generated suggestions are provided as-is and are intended as helpful recommendations. They may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting or modifying any AI-generated content before adding it as a task. I do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated output.

5. Voice Input

PopTask supports voice input for hands-free task creation. Voice audio is processed on your device using Apple's speech recognition framework. On macOS 26 or later with Apple Silicon, transcription uses Apple's Foundation Models entirely on-device.

Voice input accuracy depends on factors including microphone quality, background noise, language, and accent. I do not guarantee perfect transcription. You are responsible for reviewing the parsed result before confirming a task.

6. Third-Party Integrations

PopTask supports optional integrations with the following services:

Apple Reminders and Apple Calendar

When enabled, PopTask syncs tasks with Apple Reminders and Apple Calendar using EventKit. Use of these services is subject to Apple's terms of service.

Google Calendar

When enabled, PopTask syncs tasks with your Google Calendar account via the Google Calendar API using OAuth 2.0 authentication. Use of Google Calendar is subject to Google's Terms of Service. See the Privacy Policy (Section 4) for full details on Google user data handling.

Siri and Apple Shortcuts

PopTask supports Siri and Apple Shortcuts for adding, completing, searching, and snoozing tasks. Siri interactions are processed by Apple. Use is subject to Apple's terms of service.

Microsoft Calendar and Teams (Coming Soon)

PopTask plans to offer optional sync with Microsoft Outlook Calendar and Microsoft Teams Calendar in a future update. These terms will be updated with relevant details before the integration launches.

No integration is enabled by default. You must explicitly turn on each one in PopTask Settings. By enabling an integration, you authorize PopTask to read and write data to that service as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all tasks, notes, and content you create in PopTask. I do not claim any rights over your content. Since tasks are stored locally on your Mac, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups. I am not liable for any loss of task data.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PopTask in compliance with all applicable laws. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the app. You may not use the app to store or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others. You may not use automated tools to abuse the PopTask cloud service or any connected third-party APIs.

9. Intellectual Property

PopTask, including its design, code, icons, illustrations, animations, and branding, is the intellectual property of Abdul Rehman Haider. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the Apple EULA and these terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on PopTask or any of its components without prior written permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

PopTask is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

I do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. AI-generated content, date parsing, recurrence detection, and voice transcription may not always be accurate. Calendar sync depends on third-party services and may be affected by their availability or changes.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use PopTask. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of productivity, missed deadlines, incorrect task scheduling, or damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

In no event shall my total liability exceed the amount you paid for PopTask in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using PopTask at any time by uninstalling the app. I reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue PopTask (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. If PopTask is discontinued, you will retain access to any lifetime purchase benefits for as long as the app remains functional on your device.

13. Changes to These Terms

I may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of PopTask after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For significant changes, I will update the effective date and, when possible, note what changed.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of PopTask will be resolved in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
