Terms of Use for PopTask

PopTask is a task manager for macOS (as a menu bar app), iPhone, and iPad, built and operated by Abdul Rehman Haider (“I”, “me”, “my”). PopTask helps you create, organize, and track tasks using natural language input, voice input, AI-powered suggestions, sub-tasks, reminders, recurring tasks, lists, widgets, a Live Activity, Siri and Shortcuts, and calendar sync. Your devices sync through your own iCloud account. PopTask is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple, Google, Microsoft, or any AI provider.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in certain EU member states) to use PopTask. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using PopTask on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

Free Plan

PopTask is free to download and use with up to 3 active (non-completed) tasks. All features are available on the free plan, including natural language input, voice input, AI task breakdown, sub-tasks, per-task reminders, lists, calendar sync, Siri and Shortcuts, recurring tasks, snooze, widgets, and 9-language support. There are no time limits or expiring trials on the free plan.

PopTask Pro

PopTask Pro removes the 3-task limit and allows unlimited active tasks. Pro is available as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. All Pro features are identical regardless of which plan you choose. Exact current pricing is shown in the App Store and at the point of purchase, and may vary by region and over time.

Grace Period

Users who upgraded from PopTask v1 to v2 received a 30-day grace period with full Pro access, allowing time to evaluate the new version before deciding whether to subscribe. This legacy grace period applies only to those upgrades.

All purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple’s App Store and are subject to the Apple EULA. PopTask does not process payments directly and does not have access to your payment information.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store: on Mac, via the App Store app or System Settings and your Apple Account; on iPhone or iPad, via Settings and your Apple Account, or the App Store app, signed in with the same Apple ID. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Lifetime purchases are one-time payments that grant permanent access to all current and future Pro features for as long as the app remains available and functional. No renewal or additional payment is required.

Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s refund policy. I do not have the ability to issue, approve, or deny refunds directly. Refund requests should be made to Apple.

PopTask includes AI-powered features that process task text to provide smart suggestions, clean up titles, generate sub-tasks, detect dates and times, identify recurrence patterns, and suggest follow-up tasks.

On macOS 26 or later and iOS/iPadOS 26 or later with supported hardware, these features run entirely on your device using Apple’s Foundation Models. On earlier operating system versions, or as a fallback, task text is processed by the PopTask cloud service. See the Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

AI-generated suggestions are provided as-is and are intended as helpful recommendations. They may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting or modifying any AI-generated content before relying on it. I do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated output.

PopTask supports voice input for hands-free task creation on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Voice audio is processed on your device using Apple’s speech recognition framework. On macOS 26 or later and iOS/iPadOS 26 or later with supported hardware, interpretation uses Apple’s Foundation Models entirely on-device.

Voice input accuracy depends on factors including microphone quality, background noise, language, and accent. I do not guarantee perfect transcription. You are responsible for reviewing the resulting task before confirming it.

PopTask supports optional integrations with the following services. No integration is enabled by default; you must explicitly turn on each one in PopTask Settings. By enabling an integration, you authorize PopTask to read and write data to that service as described in the Privacy Policy.

Apple Reminders and Apple Calendar

When enabled, PopTask syncs tasks with Apple Reminders and Apple Calendar using EventKit. Apple Reminders sync is two-way. Apple Calendar receives your tasks as events, and, as of version 2.3, edits you make to those events in Apple Calendar sync back to the matching task. Use of these services is subject to Apple’s terms of service.

Google Calendar

When enabled, PopTask syncs tasks with your Google Calendar account via the Google Calendar API using OAuth 2.0 authentication. Use of Google Calendar is subject to Google’s Terms of Service. See the Privacy Policy (Section 6) for full details on Google user data handling.

Siri and Apple Shortcuts

PopTask supports Siri and Apple Shortcuts on all platforms for adding, completing, searching, and snoozing tasks. Siri interactions are processed by Apple. Use is subject to Apple’s terms of service.

Microsoft Outlook and Teams (Coming Soon)

PopTask plans to offer optional sync with Microsoft Outlook Calendar and Microsoft Teams Calendar in a future update. These Terms will be updated with relevant details before the integration launches.

You retain full ownership of all tasks, notes, and content you create in PopTask. I do not claim any rights over your content and do not access it. Because your content is stored on your devices and synced through your own iCloud, you are responsible for maintaining your iCloud backup settings and device backups. I am not liable for any loss, corruption, or unavailability of task data, including data loss arising from device failure, iCloud issues, third-party service changes, or your own actions.

You agree to use PopTask in compliance with all applicable laws and these Terms. You may not:

• reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the app, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
• use the app to store or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, or that infringes the rights of others;
• use automated tools, scripts, or other means to abuse, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the PopTask cloud service, sync relay, or any connected third-party API;
• circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or access-control features of the app or its services; or
• resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the app or its services without my prior written permission.

PopTask, including its design, code, icons, illustrations, animations, name, and branding, is the intellectual property of Abdul Rehman Haider and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to the Apple EULA and these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works based on PopTask or any of its components without prior written permission. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

PopTask may from time to time describe or include features that are in development, labeled “coming soon”, or otherwise not yet generally available. Such features are provided for informational purposes, may change or be withdrawn without notice, and create no obligation on my part to release them. Roadmap statements are not commitments.

PopTask relies on and interoperates with third-party services, including Apple (iCloud, EventKit, StoreKit, Siri, push notifications), Google (Calendar API), and a third-party AI provider (Pop and the cloud AI fallback). Your use of those services through PopTask is also subject to their respective terms and policies. I do not control these services and am not responsible for their availability, accuracy, changes, suspension, or discontinuation, any of which may affect PopTask features that depend on them.

PopTask is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

I do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components. AI-generated content, date and recurrence detection, and voice transcription may not always be accurate. iCloud sync, calendar sync, and integrations depend on third-party services and may be affected by their availability, reliability, or changes. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, PopTask. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of productivity, missed deadlines, incorrect task scheduling, or damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, my total aggregate liability arising from or related to PopTask shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for PopTask in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) five US dollars (US$5.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Abdul Rehman Haider from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising from your misuse of PopTask, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

You may stop using PopTask at any time by uninstalling the app from your devices. I reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue PopTask (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. I may also terminate or suspend your access if you materially breach these Terms. If PopTask is discontinued, you will retain access to any lifetime purchase benefits for as long as the app remains functional on your devices. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

I may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. For significant changes, I will update the date and, where possible, note what changed. Your continued use of PopTask after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without regard to its conflict of law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer. To the extent permitted by law, any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of PopTask that is not resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Disputes relating to purchases made through the App Store may also be subject to Apple’s applicable terms.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Apple EULA, constitute the entire agreement between you and me regarding PopTask and supersede any prior agreements.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

No waiver. My failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of my right to do so later.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without my prior written consent. I may assign these Terms in connection with a transfer of the app or my business.

Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them as they relate to your license to use the app, as provided in the Apple EULA.
