Meet Pop
Talk your day through and Pop plans it with you. He knows your week and your usual times, and adds nothing until you say yes. A separate subscription.
Introducing Pop, the voice assistant in PopTask v3. Say what's on your mind and he turns it into tasks with the right day and time, on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Pop (PopTask's Voice Agent) comes with a subscription that includes everything in Pro: free for a week with 20 minutes, then $9.99 a month.
While Pop is open, your voice and upcoming tasks go to a third-party AI. They're never used for training.
[ What's New in 3.0 ]
Meet Pop, a voice assistant who plans your day with you. Plus a clearer Today, a grid for every win, and a PopTask you open your way.
Talk your day through and Pop plans it with you. He knows your week and your usual times, and adds nothing until you say yes. A separate subscription.
Your next task sits on top with Snooze and a live countdown. Overdue tasks get their own block, and the rest of your day follows in order.
Finish your first task and PopTask marks the moment. From then on every day you finish something lights up a square, so the streak builds where you can see it.
The menu bar icon opens the list or Pop's orb, your choice. Or click PopTask in your Dock and it opens as a window.

[ Why People Switch and Stay ]
No formatting. No dropdowns. No date pickers.
Just say what you need to do and walk away.
01
Say your day in one go, "groceries, milk, and pick up the kids from school, suggest me a time". Pop knows your week and the times you usually do things, so he picks times that fit, puts every task on a card, and adds nothing until you say yes. Hold ⌘⌃P on your Mac, or tap Talk to Pop on iPhone.
02
Type "gym tue thu 7:30 n sat mrng" and PopTask turns it into "Morning Gym, Weekly, 7:30 AM" with the repeat set. Dates, times and repeats, figured out as you type. Names stay intact, shorthand still works, and there are no formats to learn.
03
Not sure of a time? PopTask offers the likely ones, and one tap fixes it. Correct a time once and it remembers it for that kind of task, separately for weekdays and weekends. It learns your shorthand and your usual typos too.
04
AI breaks a big task into steps in one tap. Tick them off as you go, or add your own right next to them.
05
Google Calendar and Outlook sync both ways: move or delete an event and the task follows, add an event to your PopTask calendar and it becomes a task. Apple Reminders and Calendar too, and it all syncs across your iPhone, iPad and Mac through your own iCloud.

Then tried one more.
Hey @lilhadi -- as someone who has tried just about every to-do app, I really dig this. Really simple + the natural language support is killer. Two requests/comments: Thought about adding a system wide shortcut to initiate the menu bar pop down? Also, TAB support on the pop down to switch between fields and CMD + Enter to add new a new task? Feel like that would make it even faster to use. Nice work!

the "mtg w team mon wed fri 9am" example sold me, that's exactly the friction point, most task tools make you format your thoughts before they'll accept them. does it handle recurring patterns from freeform input? like if i type "standup every weekday 9am" does it set up a repeat automatically?

U know I maintain the tasks in notepad just because its always available quickly, but this will be a game changer for sure in long term!

@lilhadi Many congratulations. Does this have context too? Example, vague stuff like "follow up on that contract thing next week" when you've got multiple contracts going, does it just parse the timing or try to get smarter about screen context too?

Upvoted and downloaded! Will see how it goes. Do you see the possibility of integrating this with other task managers? One bane of them is not having something "universal" that connects through systems/platforms to keep things truly organized.

this is so clean. curious about Focus Mode: what does it actually do? does it hide everything and just show the one task you're on?

The "just type whatever and it figures it out" approach is underrated. I've been building a focus timer app and the biggest UX lesson I keep learning is that fewer inputs = more people actually use it. Does the on-device AI handle stuff like "call dentist sometime next week" or is it more structured than that?

I wish I'd had this when I was using my Mac! Excellent work. By the way, do you have plans to release a Windows version?

[ Technically a FAQ Section ]
Built solo, so yes I actually read every question.
Yes, that is the whole point. On the Mac press ⌘⌃P from any app (you can change it in Settings), type the task, and press Return. The keyboard does the rest too: Tab moves between the compose bar and Today, Later and Completed, the arrow keys pick a task, Space twice completes it, Delete removes it, Escape closes PopTask. On iPhone it is one tap from the Home Screen, a widget, Control Center or the Share sheet.
Yes. "standup weekdays 9am", "gym mon wed fri 6am", "water plants every 3 days" and "call mom every sunday 7pm" all come out as repeating tasks, with the days and the time set. When you finish one, the next one is already on your list.
It never makes up a time. Give it a day with no time and the task lands on that day with no clock, one tap to add one. Say "sometime" or "at some point" and it saves the task with no date at all. When a time could mean two things, like "dentist friday at 10", it picks the likely one and shows the other as a one tap fix. It works from your words only: it does not read your screen or your other apps.
Yes. Each task can remind you at its time and again before it, for example 1 hour and 5 minutes before, and you set your own default. You can complete or snooze straight from the notification, get a morning summary of what is due today, and keep a count of today and overdue tasks on the app icon or in the menu bar.
Dictation follows the language you set PopTask to, in any of its 9: English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Dutch, Spanish, French, Japanese and Italian. Speech is recognized on your device, so it needs that language added for dictation in your Mac or iPhone keyboard settings. Typing works in all 9 too, times included the way each language writes them ("下午3点", "demain 15h", "alle 15"), plus Roman Urdu and Hindi.
Pop is PopTask's voice assistant, new in 3.0. Say your day in one go and he plans it with you: he knows your week and the times you usually do things, puts every task on a card, and adds nothing until you say yes. Hold ⌘⌃P or click his orb on your Mac, or tap Talk to Pop on iPhone and iPad. He is a separate subscription that includes everything in Pro: free for a week with 20 minutes, then $9.99 a month with 60 minutes.
Google Calendar and Outlook sync both ways through a PopTask calendar: move an event and the task moves, delete it and the task goes, add an event there and it becomes a task. Apple Reminders syncs both ways too, and your tasks show up in Apple Calendar. There is no import from Todoist or Things yet, but Shortcuts and the Share sheet can send tasks in from almost anywhere.
No. PopTask is built natively for Mac, iPhone and iPad, and your tasks sync between them through your own iCloud.
Yes to both. Free is forever, for up to 3 active tasks, with typing and dictation, calendar sync, repeats, reminders, AI steps, Siri and widgets included. Pro removes the limit and adds your own lists: $49.99 once, $14.99 a year, or $4.99 a month. Buy it once and it unlocks on your Mac, iPhone and iPad with the same Apple Account.
Your tasks live on your device and sync through your own iCloud, which I never see. No account, no tracking, no ads. For instant sync between your devices an encrypted snapshot passes through my server as ciphertext I can't read, and if a task needs the cloud AI only that text is sent, kept 90 seconds at most, never tied to you. Dictation stays on your device. Pop is the one exception, and only after you allow it: while Pop is open, your voice and upcoming tasks go to a third-party AI. They're never used for training.
Write to support@poptask.bar or use the contact page. I build PopTask alone, and I read and answer every message myself. If the app crashes, a note of your macOS or iOS version helps a lot.
PopTask is the last to-do app you'll download. I built it to replace everything else, now on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. And it does!
